Ongoing Meisner scene-study/repetition classes focused on allowing actors to transcend their personal obstacles to freedom as well as to gain the skills/technique necessary to “live truthfully under imaginary circumstances” (Meisner’s definition of acting). The class is for the courageous and geared toward intermediate and advanced students. After doing one-minute challenge exercises, we do the Repetition Exercise in a way that is an adaptation/expansion of Meisner’s original exercise. We then do scenes, prepped before class and not rehearsed with scene partners – you live the experience for the first time at class. Students will work two at a time (“pinning” each other on zoom) and will have multiple turns. Students can come to just the One-Minute/Repetition portion of class (ends at 7:50pm) for the same price.
