This is an ongoing Meisner scene-study/repetition class focused on allowing actors to transcend their personal obstacles to freedom as well as to gain the skills/technique necessary to “live truthfully under imaginary circumstances” (Meisner’s definition of acting). We do “one-minute” exercises, individually tailored to individual students to get them more into their body and instincts. Next is the Repetition Exercise, done in a way that is an adaptation/expansion of Meisner’s original exercise. Scenes are emailed 3 days before class and typically not rehearsed with scene partners – you live the experience for the first time in the moment. The class is for the courageous and geared toward intermediate and advanced students.
