This is an ongoing Meisner scene-study/repetition class focused on allowing actors to transcend their personal obstacles to freedom as well as to gain the skills/technique necessary to “live truthfully under imaginary circumstances” (Meisner’s definition of acting). We do “one-minute” exercises, individually tailored to individual students to get them more into their body and instincts. Next is the Repetition Exercise, done in a way that is an adaptation/expansion of Meisner’s original exercise. We then do scenes, prepped alone before class and not rehearsed with scene partners. You live the experience for the first time in the moment. The class is for the courageous and geared toward intermediate and advanced students.
